All staff members undergo a detailed screening process, including reference checks, a thorough criminal background check, and drug screening. Employees are also mandated to participate in 12 hours of in-services annually.
A Holyoke native, Fran O'Connell has more than 30 years of experience in home health, hospice and palliative, dementia, and geriatric care. He founded O'Connell Care at Home, Inc., in 1987 and continues to manage the organization today. He holds a rare accomplishment within the elder care community—he is one of the few area geriatric care managers who is a practicing nurse practitioner.
Fran received a BS in nursing from Columbia University, New York, NY; an MS as a family nurse practitioner from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst; and is a former officer in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps. He and his wife Kim have three daughters and a son. In his free time, Fran enjoys horseback riding, traveling, ceramics, and basketball.
Chief Operating Officer
Danielle Lord, chief operating officer at O'Connell Care at Home, received her Master's degree in health care management from Springfield College, and has experience as a home health care coordinator. She joined our team in YEAR. When not working, Danielle enjoys time with her son, Leo, and their dog, Boggs. She also enjoys the beach, reading, and spending time with friends.
